Evernote Even though I am already a very keen Evernote user I decided to attend this training. I am a firm believer that however much I know about something, there is always something else I can learn! I already use most of the features covered in the session, including the ability to email documents into Evernote, which Steve was very enthusiastic about, and I agree, is an invaluable feature that I use all the time! As expected however, I did learn about some useful features that I haven't been using. These included the ability to email directly into a specific notebook (not just the default one as I usually do) and also the inbuilt scanning facility which I've already been putting to good use since the training!
Twitter I also attended a lunch-time session about Twitter. Again, I already use Twitter for professional networking but I know I don't use it to it's full potential. It was interesting to learn more about hash tags and how to make the most of Twitter for making professional connections. I was also particularly interested to attend this session because I am just embarking on my Masters research thesis which is going to look at social media use in academic libraries. I am therefore trying to find out as much as possible about social media in education and this was a good opportunity to learn more about Twitter in the education field.
Thanks to Steve for such useful training, I'm hoping there will be more in the future...
